Installation
This is a urethane bonded window. Prep the cutout, dry-fit, clean, prime, and set with automotive glass urethane. Tape and support during cure. Do not drive until the urethane has cured per the urethane manufacturer specs.
Ford Transit TR201 Installation Overview
Installation of the TR201 passenger side sliding door windows requires removal of a portion of the inner stamped sheet metal on Ford Transit Medium Roof and High Roof vans.
This installation overview applies to:
- TR201-AW – Premium Awning Window
- TR201-F – Fixed Glass Window
- TR201-SE – SE-Series Sliding Window
The general process is:
- Identify and carefully cut the required inner sheet metal from inside the sliding door.
- Pay special attention to the upper front corner where the Transit door has a triangular stamped protrusion.
- Cut that upper front corner slightly smaller so the Trim-Lok edge molding and finished trim can fully seat without interference.
- File and deburr the cut edges so there are no sharp or raised areas.
- Prime or protect all freshly exposed steel.
- Install Trim-Lok edge molding over the finished sheet-metal edge.
- Dry-fit the window and verify clearance before applying automotive urethane.
- Urethane-bond the window in place and allow the adhesive to fully cure.
