Warranty Policy
Effective Customer Care. Clear Coverage. Real Support.
At Van Windows Direct (VWD), we proudly stand behind the products we sell and are committed to supporting our customers before, during, and after installation. Our goal is to provide fast, fair, and helpful support while keeping our warranty terms simple and easy to understand.
All warranty coverage applies to the product itself and covers verified manufacturing defects based on the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Van Windows Direct acts as a facilitator for warranty claims and will always do our best to help guide customers toward the best possible solution.
What Our Warranty Covers
Warranty coverage applies to verified manufacturing defects in the product itself, including:
- Glass defects such as haze, bubbles, or delamination
- Defective latches, knobs, gearboxes, or hardware
- Seal failures where applicable
- Improper sealing of vent or slider glass
- Verified fitment defects when installed by a certified installer where applicable
Warranty Resolution & Replacement Determination
Warranty resolutions are determined by Van Windows Direct (VWD) and/or the applicable third-party manufacturer based on the nature of the issue, product availability, and the most appropriate corrective solution.
Approved warranty claims may be resolved through:
- Replacement parts or hardware
- Repair components
- Technical support and troubleshooting assistance
- Partial product replacement
- Full window replacement when deemed necessary and approved
Van Windows Direct and/or the applicable manufacturer reserve the right to determine whether a claim will be resolved through replacement parts, repair solutions, partial replacement, or full product replacement. Full window replacement is not automatically provided for every claim and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
In many situations, replacement components can safely and effectively resolve the issue without requiring complete removal and replacement of the entire window assembly.
What Is Not Covered
While we are always happy to help troubleshoot and support our customers, warranty coverage does not include damage caused by misuse, improper installation, environmental conditions, accidents, neglect, or normal wear and tear.
Examples of misuse or non-warrantable conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Operating awning or crank-out windows while driving
- Leaving awning windows open during high winds, storms, or unsafe conditions
- Using power washers directly on seams, sliders, seals, or gasket areas
- Using harsh chemicals, solvents, petroleum-based cleaners, or abrasive products on seals, felt tracks, coatings, or window components
- Improper installation methods or insufficient body clearance causing stress on the glass
- Over-tightening hardware or forcing moving components beyond normal operation
- Damage caused by vehicle body flex, off-road use, accidents, or external impacts
- Glass breakage after delivery
- Screen tears after delivery
- Scratches, chips, coating wear, or cosmetic blemishes after installation
Please understand that tempered safety glass is extremely durable during normal operation but can shatter if exposed to edge impacts, improper installation clearances, excessive force, or abnormal operating conditions.
Labor and Additional Costs
Warranty coverage is limited to the product itself only and does not include:
- Labor costs for removal, installation, or repairs
- Vehicle downtime or loss of vehicle use
- Travel expenses or mobile installer fees
- Shop labor charges
- Shipping upgrades or expedited freight
- Any incidental or consequential damages
