Installation

This is a urethane bonded window. Prep the cutout, dry-fit, clean, prime, and set with automotive glass urethane. Tape and support during cure. Do not drive until the urethane has cured per the urethane manufacturer specs. 

Mercedes Sprinter SL101 Installation Overview

Installation of the SL101 driver-side forward windows requires removal of a portion of the inner stamped sheet metal on compatible Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.

This installation overview applies to:

  • SL101-AW – Premium Awning Window

The general process is:

  1. Identify and carefully cut the required inner sheet metal from inside the van when possible.
  2. File and deburr the cut edges to remove any sharp or raised areas.
  3. Prime or protect all freshly exposed steel.
  4. Install Trim-Lok edge molding over the finished sheet-metal edge.
  5. Clean all metal debris from the wall cavity.
  6. Dry-fit the actual SL101 window and verify complete clearance before applying automotive urethane.
  7. Urethane-bond the window in place and allow the adhesive to fully cure.

Important: Always verify the actual Sprinter configuration, wheelbase, and exact SL101 window before cutting. The illustrated cut area is intended as a visual reference and not as an exact cutting template.

    Top notch customer service.

    Van Windows Direct , please give your tech support a raise. Researching many people stated that van window direct was the best customer service , I can confirm this to be true I called no less that 6 times asking every dumb question under the sun when i was installing this wwindow first time and reallly expensive. The support team was always friendly and helpfull and never mmade me feel like i was a burden or stupid. I water tested no leaks it looks fantastic and would have never been able to with out them

    Awning Window

    The window is not premium quality. Window latches loose and screws are stripped, bulb gasket loose and not adhered, and the screen/shade system falling off after 30 miles of driving. It looks great visually from the exterior, but does not appear like they’ll last without continuous repairs and rattles. Customer Service was very quick to respond, but feel cheated in receiving a poor product and forced to make the repairs myself after spending over $2k on windows.
