Before cutting or bonding

Match your exact SKU, vehicle configuration, side and mounting method. Inspect and dry-fit the actual window, check the template against the main window frame, and confirm clearances before cutting. Overall glass dimensions are not a cutout template. Follow the instructions supplied with your product and the adhesive manufacturer’s preparation and cure requirements.

Find your installation guide

Enter your window SKU, choose your vehicle, or browse by task. Installation PDFs explain the mounting method; cutout guides cover the vehicle and position. Always confirm your exact model and supplied template before cutting.

Your SKU is on your order confirmation or product label. Don’t know it? Start with your vehicle below.

Tools & bump-outs

Bump-out installation PDF

VWD fiberglass bump outs

Dry fitting, optional painting, flange alignment, bonding, clamping, curing and final inspection for VWD fiberglass bump outs. Verify the window installation separately when fitting a window into a bump out.

Prepare your clamps before bonding

A little preparation makes installation easier: dry-fit the bump-out and have your supports and clamps ready before applying adhesive. Padded C-clamps can be used from the inside where accessible, and suction clamps can help hold the front portion of the bump-out from the exterior. The VWD 6pc Window Installation Clamp Set (VWD6CLMPB) is also a convenient optional add-on when ordering any of the four 1034 bump-out packages. C-clamps are separate tools and are not included in the 6-piece suction clamp set.

Attach suction cups only to clean, smooth, nonporous surfaces, seat the cups first, then adjust the bridges gently. Protect finished surfaces, maintain the adhesive manufacturer's required bond-line thickness, and use only light, even pressure. Clamps should support a properly dry-fitted part; do not use them to force a poor fit, squeeze out the adhesive, or lift the bump-out. Contact VWD with photos if the flange needs excessive force to sit correctly.
