How to Replace Your CRL Gear Box:
Above Gear Box on Aluminum Cross Bar, you will see a rivet; this must be drilled out.
The Rectangular Cover between the handles needs to be popped off. The coverslips into two channels on each side, so lightly pry up at the bottom to get out of the channel, generally work on one side, then slide down as the cover goes up above the aluminum crossbar
You will need to pop the screen off, which is simply clipped on. You should be able to pull off or use a screwdriver to pop clips.
Once removed and the gearbox is visible, there is a side-mounted Phillips screw on one side and a 10mm nut on the other in the gearbox that needs to be removed.
Once removed, the gearbox can be slid off the torsion bar by pulling it. You may need to remove the coil spring to reduce tension, making it easier to pull the gearbox off and get the new one on. There is a screw to the side of the T-handle to remove the spring if needed.
However, you may find it easier to either measure off the original gearbox or fit the gearbox in place and mark for the rivet, then remove the gearbox to drill out the hole for the rivet and re-position.
When drilling the hole, you need to go slowly only to drill the outer casing and not extend inside where there can be damage to the gears.
