The CRL Model Number FW398R T-Vent Window is a third-party aftermarket solution designed for the RAM ProMaster Van with a 159-inch extended wheelbase. CRL (CR Laurence) maintains its classic Clamp Ring installation method, developed in the 1970s, utilizing a factory urethane-bonded aluminum frame as the primary structure of the window.
This T-Vent window features a pre-applied EPDM rubber seal that compresses against the van’s outer wall, ensuring a weather-tight seal upon installation. The vent can tilt open up to 45 degrees, providing optimal airflow while maintaining security. The vent glass also compresses on its rubber seal when cranked shut to prevent moisture and air entry, with slight water entry possible under high-pressure washing.
The fiberglass mesh screen, set within a powder-coated aluminum frame, clips into the vent opening for easy removal and cleaning. The gearbox and torsion bar system ensures smooth operation of the vent glass, allowing for effortless opening and closing. The clamp ring installation securely attaches the window from the inside, with the van’s sheet metal sandwiched between the rubber seal and the aluminum frame on the exterior, and the clamp ring on the interior.
