The CRL Model Number FW297R T-Vent Window is a third-party aftermarket solution designed for the Transit Van. CRL (CR Laurence) follows its traditional Clamp Ring installation method, developed in the 1970s, utilizing a factory urethane-bonded aluminum frame for a secure fit.
This T-Vent window offers optimal ventilation, opening up to 45 degrees to allow fresh air into your Transit Van. The pre-applied EPDM rubber seal creates a weather-tight seal when the window is installed, compressing against the van’s outer wall to protect against moisture and air. The vent glass also compresses on its own rubber seal when cranked shut, ensuring a tight closure. However, minimal water entry may occur under high-pressure washing or extreme wind conditions.
The fiberglass mesh screen, housed in a powder-coated aluminum frame, clips easily into place for convenient removal and cleaning. The gearbox and torsion bar system enables smooth and effortless operation of the vent glass, allowing it to tilt out and retract seamlessly. Installation is completed from the interior side using the Clamp Ring or Trim Ring, which secures the window to the van’s sheet metal wall, creating a clean, finished appearance.
