Measure the opening and the wall
Overall dimensions describe the space occupied by the glass or frame. The required cutout is a separate measurement, and the installation template for the actual model should guide the opening.
Check wall thickness, panel curvature, mounting components and any left- or right-hand orientation. A universal application still needs a suitable mounting surface and operating clearance.
