Support starts with an email
A clear next step, whatever the age of your window.
You do not need to know exactly what is wrong before emailing us. We can help troubleshoot, suggest adjustments, identify replacement components and explore repair options.
01 / EMAIL OUR TEAM
Tell us what is happening.
Email us clear videos of your window in action, interior and exterior photos, your SKU and a description. These details help us assess the issue and identify the right next step.
02 / REVIEW TOGETHER
Let’s find the next step.
We review the details and help identify an appropriate solution, from troubleshooting to parts or an approved warranty remedy.
03 / SUPPORT AT ANY AGE
Older window? Reach out.
Being outside warranty does not mean you are on your own. We will help explore the available options and explain any applicable costs.
The VWD warranty
One year of product coverage.
Our 1-year limited warranty covers verified manufacturing defects in VWD products, subject to the terms below. Covered issues include:
- Manufacturing defects in glass, including haze, bubbles and delamination.
- Broken latches or knobs, applicable seal failures and improper sealing of sliding glass when verified as manufacturing defects.
- Verified fitment issues when installed by a VWD Certified Installer.
We review each issue to determine the appropriate solution based on the problem and product availability. An approved remedy may include repair components, replacement hardware, partial replacement or a full window replacement. Often, a component or adjustment can resolve the issue without removing the entire window; full replacement is not automatic.
Past the first year? We still want to hear from you. Issues reported after the warranty expires are outside the 1-year coverage, but we can still help with troubleshooting and available parts or repair options. Out-of-warranty assistance does not extend coverage or guarantee a free repair or replacement.
Clear expectations
Our warranty terms.
Good support starts with understanding what the warranty covers. Please inspect your window before installation, follow the installation and care instructions, and email us promptly if something is not right. If you are unsure whether your issue qualifies, email us and let us review it with you.
Coverage limits and exclusions
The product warranty does not cover:
- Glass breakage or screen tears after delivery.
- Scratches, chips, coating wear or cosmetic blemishes reported after installation.
- Misuse, accidents, neglect, normal wear, improper installation or installation-related stress.
- Environmental damage, vehicle body flex, off-road use or external impacts.
- Operating awning or crank-out windows while driving, or leaving them open in high winds, storms or unsafe conditions.
- Direct pressure-washing of seams, sliders, seals or gaskets.
- Harsh chemicals, solvents, petroleum-based cleaners or abrasives used on seals, tracks, coatings or components.
- Insufficient body clearance, over-tightened hardware or forcing moving components.
Tempered safety glass can shatter following edge impacts, inadequate installation clearance, excessive force or abnormal operating conditions. Inspect every product carefully before installation.
Did your order arrive damaged? Send damage details and photos through our contact form. Reporting within two weeks of delivery is best. Include your order number, received-condition photos of all sides of the box or pallet, and photos of the broken or damaged window or item inside its packaging. You are welcome to briefly describe visible marks or signs of damage on the packaging. See our shipping damage photo checklist. For shortages, follow our shipping and delivery reporting requirements.
Product coverage, labor and other costs
Warranty coverage is limited to the product. It does not include removal, installation or repair labor; shop charges; mobile installer fees; travel; vehicle downtime or loss of use; expedited freight or shipping upgrades; or incidental or consequential damages.
Warranty timing and replacement parts
Warranty claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period. Approved claims and replacement parts do not restart or extend the original warranty period. Cosmetic issues reported after installation are not covered.
You are welcome to email us after coverage ends. We will help you understand what support, parts or repair options may be available.
Let’s see how we can help
Email us about your window.
You’re welcome to call 858-800-4795 to discuss a concern. To start a warranty review, submit your order details, photos and video through our Warranty help desk or email vwd@vanwindowsdirect.com. Keeping your information together helps us review it accurately.
Help us see what you see — send videos. Seeing your window in action helps us assess the issue more accurately, identify the proper repair or replacement part, and help you more quickly.
Start with a view of the entire window and its installation, inside and outside. Then move closer to show the affected area. Show the window opening, closing and latching, including the screen, shade, hinges, shocks or other components involved in the issue. Point out what is happening and when it occurs. For a leak, show where water appears. Multiple clips and angles are welcome — the more clearly we can see, the better we can help.
For warranty review or support at any age, email us with:
- Your window SKU and original order number or purchase receipt.
- A description of the issue and when you first noticed it.
- Clear overall interior and exterior photos, plus close-ups of the affected area.
- Clear videos showing the full window, its operation and the issue in action. Include different angles and close-ups of the affected components so we can see as much as possible.
- Your current shipping address if parts or a replacement may be needed.
We will review the information and advise on next steps. If you cannot find your SKU or order details, email us what you have and we will help you get started.
Send a warranty support request.
